Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I call you to ask?

Yes, please do. It is actually recommended to call a few therapists to see who you can work with best. This is an opportunity for both of us to see if we can work together. You briefly describe to me your situation and I will let you know if it is appropriate for online work. Also, I let you know if I am competent to offer you the best suitable support you need at present time. I can provide you with a colleague / organisation to turn to who best suit to your current need if it is needed.  So, please call to see!

2. Is online counselling secure?

Yes, Skype is at least as secure as face to face therapy, but 100% guarantee cannot be given using online platforms. Even with in person counselling risks exist, e.g. someone seeing you entering the clinic or a conversation being overheard in a poorly sound-proofed room. Skype-to-Skype voice, video and file transfers are encrypted however data breach may occur.

3. Is Skype counselling effective?

Yes, absolutely. I have been working both face to face, via phone and Skype since 2007. Seeing clients via Skype is just as effective as face to face work.

4. Can you prescribe medication?

No, I am not eligible to prescribe medication as a psychologist. I can recommend you a private psychiatrist or consult with your GP who can assess you for a prescription.

5. Do you provide report writing service for court cases?

No, I do not offer report writing services. I can, however, provide you with a letter on your attendance of counselling.

6. Are you insured and licensed?

Yes, I have full professional indemnity insurance from year to year. I am licensed in Hungary as well as registered and licensed practitioner in the UK. For more information please click here

7. Do you see children and adults in person?

Yes, I do see children, families and adults face to face. Note, due to the coronavirus I suspended the in person sessions due to safety reasons. Please call to see if I am back to work face to face in Budapest, Hungary.
